Online Platforms Backlash Countless users and merchants are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification than originally posted due to the recalibration. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size when needed, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Changes Earlier, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Required Changes A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained.
